In the 1950s, Goofy underwent even more changes to his character and appearance. He became a family man going through the trials of everyday life, such as dieting, giving up smoking, and raising a child. He was more intelligent, had smaller eyes with eyebrows, often his whole body was flesh tone instead of black, and sometimes had a normal voice. He even lacked his droopy ears, protruding teeth, and white gloves in some shorts.
During this time, Goofy was never referred to as “Goofy” in the actual cartoon. While every cartoon still started with the “Walt Disney presents Goofy" title card, he was usually called "George Geef" in the cartoons’ dialogue. When the stories featured Goofy as multiple characters, then he had numerous other names as well.
